National Postal Service of Switzerland has Adopted Cryptocurrencies

As per the latest reports, the Swiss national postal service has announced that it has adopted cryptocurrencies. However, the national postal service has adopted cryptocurrencies technology in a different fashion. The national postal service has announced that it has introduced tradable digital stamps.

According to the national postal service of Switzerland, it will be able to build a bridge between the digital cryptocurrency industry and physical stamps.

The Swiss Post made an official announcement on the matter on September 20, 2021, for the first time. Back in September, the Swiss Post had announced that it was in the process of updating the cryptocurrency technology.

The post-service had revealed that it was working on a project that it had dubbed “Swiss crypto stamp”. The firm revealed that the particular stamp would be a physical stamp for the users. However, the most significant and unique thing about the stamp would be that it will also have a digital existence. The stamps would also have a digital image that the users will be able to collect as a collectible.

The Swiss Post had announced that they were working on the development of the stamps, and once launched, they would cost somewhere around 8.9 Swiss francs.

When a customer purchases the physical stamp from a shop, they will also be purchasing a digital version of the particular stamp. That stamp will have a digital representation of the digital stamp and these stamps will be stored on the blockchain supported by the Swiss Post.

The Swiss Post has confirmed that every single cryptocurrency stamp they launch would exist in the form of a non-fungible token (NFT). The firm has already partnered with the Polygon Blockchain development team and has built the NFT stamp infrastructure on its blockchain system.

This information has been officially shared by a representative of the Swiss Post. The post is very excited about the launch of the new project. They are hoping that with the new product, they will be able to bring back more people to the stamps system.

Over time, as people have started using social medial platforms and online messengers, the stamps have ended up being an old trend. However, the step taken by the Swiss Post may bring back the old trend into fashion, attracting youngsters to stamps.

On the physicals, the buyers will be able to see a barcode that they will be able to scan through their smartphones. Once scanned, the users will gain access to the digital version of the same physical stamp. At present, 13 designs have been developed and launched by the Swiss Post, so the collectors will also become part of the new stamp run.
