Chief Lawyer Of Ripple Leaves The Company For The Dispute Over A Collective Lawsuit On XRP

One of the top lawyers of the crypto-active startup Ripple left the company because of a dispute over a collective lawsuit on XRP.

Brynly Llyr, a top lawyer at Ripple, joined the blockchain company in San Francisco in November 2016 as general counsel of the firm and worked for the company for almost two years.

In a statement, the representative of Ripple confirmed this and said that the blockchain firm was “grateful” for her work in the company.

Previously, Llyr was involved in a case involving a “group suit and a complex litigation” for eBay.

Her departure occurs at a time when Ripple is preparing to defend itself against a different class of lawsuits where it is stated that XRP cryptocurrencies must be regulated as securities and that the distribution of XRP is illegal offers of securities .

Ripple, for its part, has long denied that XRP is a security. The Securities and Exchange Commission, meanwhile, did not comment on this issue publicly, although officials said that bitcoin and etherium – the only two cryptocurrencies with the highest probability than XRP – should not be classified as securities in accordance with current US legislation.
