BLOCKSTREAM INTRODUCED A BETA VERSION OF THE SATELLITE API FOR SATELLITE BROADCASTING OF BLOCKCHAIN DATA

BLOCKSTREAM INTRODUCED A BETA VERSION OF THE SATELLITE API FOR SATELLITE BROADCASTING OF BLOCKCHAIN DATA

In December, the blockchain company Blockstream announced the expansion of the coverage area of the satellite service Blockstream Satellite to the Asia-Pacific region, as well as added support for Lightning transactions. Now the company has taken another step in the framework of its mission of freeing the cryptocurrency network from Internet connection through fixed communication channels in order to strengthen it by releasing API for Blockstream Satellite.

The latest product of Blockstream allows you to use satellites for encrypted messaging and payment for services in the lightning test, while data transmission is currently free. Developers can send messages with API RESTful, and users can send messages through the Blockstream site.

The project team limited the volume of messages so that each could be sent within 10 seconds. The press release also explains that developers can use their own encryption, fragmentation and reassembly if they need to send a larger amount of data. “Payments” through a network of Lightning also adds another level of privacy of the project, separating the source from the receiver.
