IN NEVADA 950 COUPLES HAVE ALREADY MARRIED ON BLOCKCHAIN
Last year, the city of Reno in Nevada became the first city in the United States to register 950 marriages on the blockchain. The introduction of blockchain in the process of registration of marriages is an initiative of the local municipality, which intends to transfer all its document flow in the digital field.
Since the advent of such a possibility, 950 pairs have already sealed themselves in marriage on the Ethereum blockchain. The representative of Titan Seal, Philip Dhingra, noted that the Ethereum blockchain was chosen, as “it is difficult to crack”. He also noted that the traditional process of marriage registration takes up to 10 days, and the blockchain certificate is available in less than 24 hours.
Technical specialist of the administrative district of Washou noted that people often come to the city of Reno for the purpose of marriage registration for various reasons. Moreover, the blockchain certificate can be used as many times as necessary, while the certificate of marriage registration on paper must be obtained again every time.
Civil registration is not a new idea: the first “blockchain wedding” was played back in 2014 between Joyce and David Mondrus and registered on BTC.
