QTUM PLATFORM ADDED THE FUNCTION OF ATOMIC SWAPS WITH BTC

QTUM PLATFORM ADDED THE FUNCTION OF ATOMIC SWAPS WITH BTC

Qtum service has added the function of atomic swaps, and now users can directly exchange different cryptocurrencies. This was possible thanks to the technology of the Hashed TimeLock Contracts (HTLC).

Atomic swaps –  technology that allows the seller and the buyer to exchange different cryptocurrencies directly, without intermediaries.

The introduction of atomic swaps became possible with the help of the technology of Hashed TimeLock Contracts (or HTLC). According to the Qtum team, HTLC technology is also the safest way to implement swaps.

The atomic swap itself is produced using the qtum token.

In addition to swaps, Qtum has announced plans to release “UTXO zero value”, which will allow users who do not store qtum tokens to interact with smart contracts, while the Commission will be paid by a third party.

Recall, that in December Qtum has provided a grant of $400 thousand for the researchers at Columbia University, with the aim of developing a programming language for smart contracts called DeepSEA.
